Tradegate and Bryn Systems announced today that Bryn’s eIDO software for the international liner shipping industry was complete. The first shipping line to deploy the new service will be Pacific Asia Express (PAE).
“Bryn’s development will enable PAE to send electronic import delivery orders to customs brokers, freight forwarders and importers via Tradegate’s Smartimports service. The software provides complete management of the shipping lines eIDO processes and can offer full integration with shipping lines core administration systems,” Mr Blanchard said.
“The new service will enable PAE and other shipping lines to meet container terminal operators’ demands for electronic import delivery orders”.
“The system is completely integrated with our Atlantis CMR solution, providing customers with true EIDO capabilities and eliminating redundant data entry requirements.” Bryn Systems managing director, Phill Kenny said.
“In conjunction with Tradegate, our new service will provide importers, customs brokers and freight forwarders with access to well over 50 per cent of Australia’s containerized import trade”, Mr Kenny said.
PAE has been piloting the software over the past month and is expected to go live with the service over the next two weeks.
“The capability provided by Bryn’s software will enable us to significantly reduce our costs while meeting the needs of our clients and the industry”, PAE’s IT manager, Genevieve Abranches said.
It is estimated that when fully implemented the joint Tradegate Bryn service will result in savings to the import community of over $13 million per annum from savings in time, courier costs, reduced traffic, less paper, and reduced truck times at the wharf.
The Bryn Systems development was made possible by a grant of $250,000 from the Tradegate Development Fund.
